AI Engineer — Web3 & Blockchain Data

Build AI-driven risk, monitoring, and analytics systems on top of both traditional collateral data and on-chain blockchain data as SBL Nova extends into tokenized assets.

Remote (US)Full-time$145K – $200KSenior

About The Company

SBL Nova monitors over $50B in collateral daily and is expanding into tokenized securities and on-chain settlement. We're looking for an AI engineer who can build intelligent systems — anomaly detection, risk scoring, automated document and transaction analysis — that work equally well on traditional market data and messy, high-volume on-chain data.

About The Role

Build AI-driven risk, monitoring, and analytics systems on top of both traditional collateral data and on-chain blockchain data as SBL Nova extends into tokenized assets.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience building and shipping production machine learning or AI systems
  • Strong Python skills and experience with modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, scikit-learn) and/or LLM tooling (RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, embeddings)
  • Hands-on experience working with blockchain data — decoding transactions, reading contract events/logs, using indexers (The Graph) or analytics platforms (Dune, Nansen)
  • Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals: wallets, token standards, smart contract events, and on-chain vs. off-chain data tradeoffs
  • Experience designing data pipelines that ingest, clean, and model large, noisy, real-time datasets
  • Comfortable partnering with engineering, risk, and compliance stakeholders to translate model output into decisions that hold up in a regulated environment
  • Strong communication skills — able to explain model behavior and limitations clearly to non-ML audiences

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience building fraud, AML, or risk-scoring models, ideally involving on-chain wallets or transactions
  • Familiarity with Solidity or the ability to read smart contract code well enough to extract relevant signals
  • Experience with LLM-based document intelligence (contract/prospectus parsing, KYC/AML document review)
  • Prior work in fintech, crypto compliance, or digital asset risk
  • Experience deploying ML models in a SOC 2 / regulated production environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and build models that detect anomalous collateral movement, wallet behavior, and transaction risk across both traditional and on-chain data sources
  • Build pipelines that decode and normalize on-chain data (transactions, contract events, token transfers) into features usable by risk and product teams
  • Develop AI-assisted tooling to support smart contract review, on-chain monitoring, and proof-of-reserve style verification alongside our audit and engineering teams
  • Partner with product to bring AI-driven insights (risk scores, alerts, summaries) directly into advisor- and institution-facing workflows
  • Continuously evaluate model performance against real-world outcomes and iterate quickly
  • Stay current on both AI/ML best practices and the fast-moving on-chain data ecosystem
  • Document model behavior, assumptions, and limitations clearly enough to support internal and external audit review

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ($145K–$200K) plus equity participation in a growth-stage fintech company
  • 100% remote within the US
  • Comprehensive health coverage and 401(k) with match
  • Generous PTO and flexible working hours — we trust you to manage your own time
  • Dedicated budget for compute, tooling, and ML/AI conference attendance
  • Rare chance to apply AI to a genuinely novel data problem: bridging traditional finance and on-chain data in a regulated setting
  • Small, senior, low-ego engineering team shipping on a two-week Agile cadence
  • Direct line to founders and leadership — your work shapes the roadmap, not just a backlog
